Walk down from the house along the river path and you reach the bridge in twenty-five minutes. The old town climbs from the gate up to the castle and the church of Santa María.
The castle
It was built by the archbishops of Zaragoza in the fourteenth century, half palace and half fortress. Inside there are bare stone halls, a kitchen with an enormous chimney and a terrace with the whole valley below.
The castle opens most mornings. In summer go early, while the stone is still cool, and come back by the upper road for the view over the rooftops.

The bridge is lit at night. If you are not eating with us, the restaurants on the square by the town hall have tables outside until late.
