01 — The plan

An old railway line turned into a path, with tunnels and viaducts. Best by bike.

Time needed

Half a day by bike

Best time

Spring and autumn

Good for

Cyclists, families

The line never took a train all the way to the sea. Today it is a gentle, almost flat route through tunnels, over viaducts and past old stations.

The route

From Valdealgorfa to Cretas is about thirty kilometres, slightly downhill most of the way. The best stretch is between Valdealgorfa and Torre del Compte, with the longest tunnel and two viaducts over the river.

Practical

We lend bikes and lights for the tunnels. The stretch from Valdealgorfa has the longest one, more than two kilometres, and it is cold inside even in summer, so take a layer. If you only want to ride one way, we pick you up at the end.

Plan it with us

We lend bikes, pack a picnic and book guides. Ask the night before and it’s ready when you wake up.

Bikes and helmets, free for guests

Picnic from the kitchen, €14 per person

02 — Getting there

How to get there

20 minutes by car to Valdealgorfa, or start at Cretas, 15 minutes away. We lend bikes and lights.
