Our story
A house we didn’t build, only kept
Seven years, one stone at a time

1790
A farmhouse outside the walls
Built by a family of olive growers, with the press on the ground floor and hay above.
1962
Thirty years of silence
The last family left for Barcelona. The roof held; almost nothing else did.
2016
We came back
Clara grew up in the village. We bought the house from her great-uncle’s cousins and started taking it apart, stone by stone.
2019
Six rooms and a kitchen table
We opened with six rooms and cooked for guests at our own table.
2023
Twelve rooms, one long table
The barn became six more rooms, and Marta came home to run the kitchen.
Four people and a dog

Hosts
Clara & Jordi
They run the house, the garden and most of the conversations at breakfast.

Chef
Marta Lahoz
Cooks what the valley gives and bakes the bread every morning.

Garden and olives
Joaquín
Looks after the vegetable garden and the two hundred olive trees behind the house.

Head of security
Tizón
Sleeps by the fire, greets every car and has never once stopped anyone from coming in.
We didn’t set out to open a hotel. We wanted to save a house, and then we wanted to share it. If you come, you’ll meet all of us at breakfast: ask us where to walk, what to eat or which room gets the sunrise, and we’ll tell you the truth.
Clara and Jordi, Valderrobres
